Boldly and beautifully, gorgeous and mysterious she sits in the night sky reigning over her children of the night. Silently dictating, as her will is set in stone. Her wild children, two sides of the same coin, blessed with the Shift they are two souls twinned together to make one. Meant to live in harmony, like foolish children they think they are right to separate from one another and mistreat each other. Many suffer as they fight among themselves for power. And much like the humans, a king is appointed and there is peace, but injustice still ensues as they enslave their fellow wolves. With dark skin and coarse, woolen like hair, these wolves hark from the continent of ebony and gold and like their human counterparts have been stolen as slaves to work for the entitled and noble of foreign nobility but not on plantations or as servants.

They are meant to be tools of war for these wolves are different. Described as the beast among beasts. Their ferocious behavior is said to rival those of the purest of blood during battle and thus were dubbed Feral. And with that, the war of the three wolves was one of pure carnage and these tools of destruction its focal point. The fighting lasted for a bitter 15 years until the leaders of the three Providences came to a treaty and with that came the freedom of the feral and to think all of this took place within the blissful ignorance of the humans. Two centuries have passed since then and the three Providences are now known as America, England, and Scotland. Even though two hundred years have passed a question still lingers on the chapped lips of this legendary war. Why were the Feral so powerful and their manner so bent on destruction? There are many answers but none of them really proven. Some say it was because of how they were treated by their captors and others say it was because they lived as true wolves would, without the amenities of civilized life. And then there is another theory. It is said that these wolves are the descendants of the Goddesses’ second and most child Aibek, younger brother to Alpha.

Legend says that Aibek had a temper like no other and wanted much to be master of his own mother and all that she commanded. So much so that one day he caused her to darken due to how he caused her distress. He eventually outgrew this, but it is said that his cataclysmic anger was passed onto his descendants. With the war over and the treaty signed all wolves lived together despite the color of their skin or their tumultuous lineage. Unfortunately, however, fear and apprehension still lie in the hearts of those who know of the carnage of the war long past and those who caused it. And in truth, there hasn’t been any true Feral in over 200 years well that was until Her.

The prelude to my second novel ever. I want to get into writing again and digging up this little gem and getting back into writing long form instead of short form is something I hope to achieve going forward into the new year.
